I have found that through the years of my life we cannot always focus on the big things in life and fret and stress over how things \”did not go our way\” or the way we prayed they would go. But instead we should fix our eyes on the little things that make life what it is here on Earth for now and the people/purposes that make up our life, that are important to us. It is not focusing on the day-to-day frustrations of traffic and someone jumping in front of you on the highway (if you\’re from Jersey or Philly you\’ll understand…haha). It isn\’t about not having the exact body you want when you want it, or how you feel at each moment about someone who said something to you out of anger or their own pain and hurts that they have accumulated in their life. It is not about waking up and hitting snooze (I am guilty for sure sometimes!) and being ungrateful because you looked out of your window and it is raining out and it didn\’t call for rain.
I find more and more as I add very quickly it seems, to the years on my life, that is simply about enjoying the journey. It is about waking up and feeling your breath enter your lungs another day and know that God blessed you with another day on this Earth to carry out the work that he has began in you. It is about waking up and feeling your feet press firmly into the floor and know that you have a body that you are blessed with that is still here today and ready to conquer the world- if you so chose to see it that way each and every day you wake. It is choosing to see the good in people and standing in faith that the sun will come out eventually- if not for this season, the next.
I find that each day our eyes should be fixed on our Creator and how he has given us all we need to be whole if we would just choose to recognize it and not live in fear but that we may apply it to our lives each moment by possibly changing our perspective on each and every situation and person that arises in our lives each day. We should understand that we are all human, we all have experienced pain, just in different forms and experiences, we have all felt sorrow and we all have hurts that we may carry that may from time-to time reflect how we treat others or ourselves. We just should have compassion and understanding for ourselves and know that God loves us and can heal us and to also have compassion for others to know that they are able to be loved and healed just as we are along our journey.
It is called \”grace\”. We need to appreciate the grace God gave us and offer it to others and ourselves. We need to be gentle with fragile hearts and souls and fill the \”holes\” with the love of our God not our self-loathing habits of poor perspective and a negative outlook on life and our own self-image in our flesh. We can instead choose to each and everyday have a positive outlook on our day and those around us and our circumstances to know that \”God has our back\” and he sees all that we do not and we will never know why things may occur that seem \”negative\” to us at the time, but to know that it is for a reason that just may help us or someone else in the long run fulfill their purpose one day and we may never know it.
I know that I have learned that the journey is more important than the destination and to hear that with your ears you may think its cliche, but to hear it with your heart and soul is another story…meditate and pray on that for a while (considering what I have wrote above) and maybe you too will wake up tomorrow with a whole new perspective and a whole new you!
Gob Bless Your Heart-N-Sol!
Oceans of love,
Amanda
